Posted: October 6, 2015

The Chippewa Valley Museum will host the Chippewa Valley Book Festival luncheon "A Taste of Lake Superior Flavors: Yooper and North Shore Lunch" with author James Norton and photographer Becca Dilley on Wednesday, October 21 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.

Savor a lunch of foods from Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Duluth featured in the Lake Superior Flavors book as James Norton and Becca Dilley take us on a culinary circle tour of the greatest of the Great Lakes-Lake Superior. Norton and Dilley dined and explored their way around Lake Superior, meeting brewers, bakers, cheesemakers, chefs, farmers and more. They'll share stories, tastes, and photos from their travels.

In addition to her photography work for Lake Superior Flavors, Becca Dilley is the co-author of The Master Cheesemakers of Wisconsin, a professional photographer, and the founder of the Independent Wedding Association. Her photos have appeared in Minnesota Bride, Saveur, and the Minneapolis Star Tribune. She has shot weddings in Ireland, New Zealand, Mexico, and all over the United States. She won a red ribbon with her Grandma Dilley's pickled watermelon rinds in the 2009 Minnesota State Fair.

James Norton has authored a number of regional food books including Lake Superior Flavors, The Master Cheesemakers of Wisconsin, and Minnesota Lunch: From Pasties to Banh Mi. His writing has appeared in the Christian Science Monitor and Washington Post, and he is the founding editor of The Heavy Table, a daily online magazine covering food and drink in the Upper Midwest. He is also a regular contributor to Minnesota Public Radio.
