Biking into History

Improve your health and your knowledge while biking into history. Join in for any, or all, of these free guided bicycle tours around Eau Claire. Please note the August 7th tour is a walking tour.

Scheduled Tours

CITY OF BRIDGES | June 8th | 6pm to 8pm

Join the inaugural Biking into History ride as part of Wisconsin Bike Week! Jeremy Gragert leads this this tour that begins, and ends, in downtown Eau Claire at Family Video.

NATURAL HISTORY | June 30th | 2pm to 4pm

In conjunction with Family Day Downtown and Celebrate the Chippewa River, Jeremy Gragert and UWEC Geographer Doug Faulkner take you for a tour along the river. This ride begins, and ends, at the Phoenix Park Trailhead building (the building in Phoenix Park with the bike tool station and restrooms close to Barstow St).

INDUSTRIES OF THE PAST | July 31st | 6pm to 8pm

Local Historian Frank Smoot takes you along for a tour focusing on industries that have been important to the Chippewa Valley. This tour will begin, and end, at the Chippewa Valley Museum.

*ARCHITECTURE OF THE RANDALL PARK NEIGHBORHOOD | August 7th | 6pm to 7:30pm

Join UWEC Archivist Greg Kocken for this National Night Out walking tour starting in Randall Park.
