Teen Guides
at the Chippewa Valley Museum learn the history of the Chippewa
Valley, enhance their public speaking and social skills, and build
their self-esteem and confidence. Its also a great service-learning
opportunity. More than two dozen students successfully completed
the program in the summer of 2002.
Training includes
historical interpretation, visitor services, and public-speaking
techniques. Following training, students will be asked to work eight
to ten shifts during the summer on a flexible schedule. Shifts are
as short as four hours.
If you
want to be a teen guide, call (715) 834-7871, and ask for Mary Fandel, volunteer coordinator, or Karen Jacobson, educator.
