Historic Schlegelmilch House
Lake and Farwell Streets, Downtown Eau Claire

The Schlegelmilch House, an historic site operated by the Chippewa Valley Museum,offers a beautiful and relaxing environment for such gatherings as holiday parties, weddings, receptions, business retreats, and club and business meetings, Cost per guest is competetive with other, less interesting locations. The home may be reserved for private events year round, seven days a week. Free parking is available directly behind the home.

For dinners, the house will accommodate up to 32 people. For stand-up events, such as receptions, the house will hold about 60. A number of caterers in the area are available to serve your meal. For meetings, receptions and retreats, light snacks may be prepared in the kitchen. During the warmer months, your guests will enjoy the wrap-around porch and yard.

The museum's Charter Bank Room, auditorium, and ice cream parlor are all available for rent for meetings, dinners, parties, and receptions. The Charter Bank Room can seat 12-20 and is a designed for business or board meetings. The auditorium will seat 60 people at tables or 90 theater-style. It offers internet access and has a large screen for films, PowerPoints, or other data projection. The Ice Cream Parlor can accommodate about 30 people and is charming for parties, reunions, and the like. In addition, the entire museum can be rented before or after regular public hours. Rental fees vary with the type of event, number of guests, and if museum tours are included. Various trays and punch bowls are available free of charge.
