Summer Kids Programs!

The Chippewa Valley Museum will again offer weekly classes for kids this summer. Time Travelers for children ages 6-12 is held on Wednesday mornings from 10-11:30 a.m., and Museum Explorers is offered for preschoolers ages 3-5 on Thursdays from 10-11:30 a.m. Cost per class is $8 per child for non-members, and $5 per child for museum members.

Each 90-minute class features hands-on experiences, as students explore museum exhibits to learn about local culture and heritage in a series of exciting history adventures! Classes are held at the Chippewa Valley Museum located in scenic Carson Park, or at the historic Schlegelmilch House at 517 South Farwell Street, downtown Eau Claire.

July 16, Picture of Health: Explore our exhibit to learn about healthcare in the past.

July 23, Let's Trade: Journey to the age of the voyageurs in our Changing Currents exhibit.

July 30, Teddy Bear Picnic at the Historic Schlegelmilch House.

August 6, Pioneer Days: Peak inside our 1860s log house and imagine life in Laura Ingalls' time.

June 24, Medical Marvels: Visit our Picture of Health exhibit to see an iron lung.

July 8, Picturing the Past: Join artist Cyndi Kortbein for an art party.

July 15, Farmer's Jubilee: Enjoy a live demonstration from Just Local Food Cooperative with yummy samples.

July 22, Paddling Thru the Ages: Investigate different traditions of canoe building, and learn how to use cordage.

July 29, Always Beading: Meet local artist Michael Ojibway and learn about his beadwork.

August 5, Summer at the Schlegelmilch's: Enjoy a historic home tour and live Oompah concert.
