Purpose Statement

Understanding the history of our community is basic to our democratic way of life, gives us a better understanding of our state and nation, and promotes a better appreciation of our American heritage. Within this precept, the purpose of the Chippewa Valley Museum shall be to discover, collect, preserve, and interpret the history and culture of the Chippewa Valley and its people.

Vision Statement

It is our goal to engage a diverse audience through a lively, thought-provoking approach to regional history and heritage. By telling the story of what happened here, the Chippewa Valley Museum reveals connections and bridges the distance between the past and present.

We will welcome visitors from far away and encourage within local residents a strong sense of ownership. CVM maintains high professional standards that are shared with other regional organizations through collaboration and technical support.
