Welcome to the History Portal for Educators!

Explore U.S. History resources we’ve compiled from past Teaching American History (TAH) professional development programs, including:

Lesson plans written by educators who participated in the TAH program.  Browse by grade level and topic.

Recommended reading lists developed by UW and CVM instructors.  These titles helped fellow educators increase their content knowledge of topics in U.S. and Wisconsin history.  Browse by topic.

Resource guides for research projects on various topics, developed by CVM instructors.

Web resources gathered by the Department of Education for the Teaching American History program. View resource now.

All resources are the products of past professional development programs offered by Cooperative Educational Service Agency 10, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and the Chippewa Valley Museum, with funding from a Teaching American History grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Though the Teaching American History program no longer exists, we are pleased to present these resources as a legacy to the program.
