Golden Anniversary Gala

Posted: August 10, 2016

Fifty years ago, the founders of the Chippewa Valley Museum (CVM) in Eau Claire's scenic Carson Park signed the museum's articles of incorporation. The museum has been preserving and showcasing the history of the valley ever since, connecting residents and visitors alike to the stories that make this place unique.

Celebrate 50 years down memory lane at the Chippewa Valley Museum Golden Anniversary Gala on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 5:30 to 10:00 pm at The Florian Gardens in Eau Claire.

Golden Anniversary Gala guests can dance to live jazz and American classic music by Liscio, enjoy a wonderful dinner, pick up some local history, and admire some of the first, oldest, and quirkiest objects saved by the museum. A silent auction will feature baskets and items from around the Chippewa Valley.

Williams Diamond Center in Eau Claire is also sponsoring a small treasures drive in support of the Chippewa Valley Museum. Guests can donate jewelry, diamonds, coins, gold, and silver at the Gala, and Williams Diamond Center will be present to evaluate and pay CVM premium prices for all donated treasures. Have an unmatched gold earring? An old class ring? Lightly used engagement ring? Any and all donations will benefit the museum (tax donation receipts available upon request). It's a golden opportunity to support the museum in an unusual way.

Cost is $50 per person. Price includes dinner and music. $15 tax deductible. Cash bar. Proceeds from the celebration support the Museum's exhibits and educational programs.

Call the Chippewa Valley Museum at 715-834-7871 by September 1 to reserve a spot.

The Florian Gardens is located at 2340 Lorch Avenue in Eau Claire.
