Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor |
![]() |
Inside the Chippewa Valley Museum, families can order ice cream sodas made just as they were in Grandma's day. The museum's working ice cream parlor, which seats about 25, sports a marble-topped soda fountain. The soda fountain was originally owned and operated by Dor Smith in Eau Claire from 1895 to 1924. In 1924 Alf Bjerke purchased it and moved it to his drug store in Fall Creek. The Bjerke family donated the marble fountain to CVM in 1979 Remember! You do not need to pay the museum admission fee if you just want to come to the museum to buy ice cream. We serve several flavors of our refreshing ice cream in cones, and we also make malts, shakes, and floats! Very delicious and inexpensive ice cream!
