Materials Needed for the Exhibit

We're still looking for specific materials for our new Farm Life exhibit. So, if you owned a rural dance hall or tavern (or know someone who did) ... or, if you are from a farm family (or know one) ... take a look around. Please do not bring artifacts directly to the museum. Instead, call Curator Carrie Ronnander at 834-7871 or email her at carrie@cvmuseum.com to describe your materials.

For the farmhouse:
Wooden kitchen table (3'x4')
Wooden spindle-back kitchen chairs
Secretary desk
1950s kitchen products
1950s embroidered dish towels

For the fields:
Tractor: ideally, a Farmall H or John Deere B or D, but any 1940s tractor can be considered
Threshing-ring written agreement

For the barn:
Section of stanchion with drinking cups and piping (a 15' section would be nice)
Short section of wooden fence and posts with a gate
Wooden calf pen with a gate in the middle and a wooden "feed trough"
Traditional wooden barn doors
Milk house pipeline and collection jar
Milking-parlor light fixtures
Other milking parlor stuff
Feed cart
Cow stethoscope and/or thermometer

For the farm: miscellaneous
Delco electric generator
Any tools or toys made or modified for kids to use on the farm

For the dance hall / tavern:
1950s bar stools with padded tops
Bar counter (4' long would be ideal)
Bar or restaurant table

CVM is also always looking for farming photographs from any era, but especially the 1950s at this time.
